A Talk on Captain Bligh from Coram
A lecture by Philip Cottam on one of our more famous residents, Captain Bligh, forever remembered as being involved with the Mutiny on the Bounty. However, he had a wide-ranging naval career taking him from sailing with Captain Cook to Admiral Nelson.

Through three presentations find out about businesses in the Waterloo area from the 1880s to 1930s. Recent research has been focused on the findings from a local bank’s Signature Book (1913-1924), through investigating Youngers’ Brewery Head Office on Upper Ground, to the analysis of census returns for Pearman Street 1891 to 1921 to discover what jobs people did. The evening will open with a brief AGM.
